I saw today (7 May 2012) a bird (Magpie robbins) picking up fibers of about 10 cms long, looking like that of the coconut. This happened early morning (6-30 AM) in a Goan village at Thivim. Wonder, how all of a sudden these fibers become part of their active environment, during the breeding season.(I presume this o be breeding season for the magpies; why else the bird start making nest? What wonders hormones play in the cognition of ones environment/s, even for us!
