Measuring in micron is CUBE lab’s one of the most favorite activities. It unravels the problems and difficulties among biology students and even teachers about imagining a space less than 1 mm. Is it really possible? Well, yes the CUBE lab’s activity does the estimation and measurement of microorganisms in microns in a very simplistic way using simple conversions and proportional understanding.
This activity is developed as a module and has been published in the July 2020 issue of Teacher Plus.
We discuss the problems and even lack of the measurement in microns as topics in the text related to biology chapters. We provide examples from the known measurements and take the readers to imagine and estimating the microns. The module is written using activities with ruler and graph methods.
