I am excited to introduce SeasonWatch to you all! SeasonWatch is a citizen science project that tracks changes in trees (such as the emergence of leaves, flowers, and fruits) with seasons across India. A large proportion of our citizen scientists are middle school students who register trees on our website or app and monitor them once a week, reporting the number of leaves, flowers, and fruits. This activity is a great way to get children outdoors, observe trees and use the opportunity to explain ecology concepts (pollination, dispersal, food webs, etc.). More details are available on
SeasonWatch organises a bioblitz event every quarter of the year, wherein interested naturalists can contribute tree information over 4 days. The idea is to get a snapshot of tree behaviour across India in a short time. I would request the community to please consider participating in the event ( event details) and share widely with others who may be interested in participating.
