[7:29 AM, 8/14/2021] Abhijeet Singh: So @Seethalakshmy CUBE if I(or anybody who doesn’t know what are black ants and black crazy ants) look into your culture and want to distinguish between the common black ants and crazy black ants what peculiar character should we look for?
Which character would easiest to differentiate between the two!?
[8:28 AM, 8/14/2021] Abhijeet Singh: Yes sir!!
I’m going the paper and trying to understand what are the characters of climbing plants they are taking as inspiration to development robots for their purposes.

Going through the paper they say that
However clear and useful biological investigations require a methodological approach to really understand the possible reasons for a particular phenomenon in order to facilitate and correctly translate the working principles from nature to the artificial world

The review is divided into 3 parts i.e. 1) Adaptation. 2) Movement. 3) Behaviour.

ADAPTATION
This section includes the details the current *morphological( form and structure) and biomechanical(structure, function and motion of the mechanical aspects of biological systems) tools and methods used to Investigate the material structure-properties in climbing plants, as well as their tissue architecture and variation in material properties from macro to micro-scale.

MOVEMENT
Includes exploring the recent studies on movements and with and overview of the tracking methods and some software for analysing the kinematics.

BEHAVIOUR
Analysing the approaches used to explore the theories behind the behaviour in climbing plants*

The beauty and efficiency of nature have long Inspired engineers aiming at transferring ideas from biology to technology
The specific term biomimetics ( mimicking biological processes) was coined by bio-engineer Otto Schmitt.

I need to go through it and also see for other references available.

Very interesting picture😃! As if the plant is using hands to take support for growing!. Ulwe, Navi-Mumbai. 14th August 2021.
Mom tied a rope so that they can grow by taking support. And it seems like it is doing good for them. Ulwe, Navi-Mumbai, 14th August 2021

[1:00 PM, 8/14/2021] Janhvi Deshmukh: :astonished: wow !what they do in hibiscus :relieved:such a beautiful video …what do you think  what fruitfly do on hibiscus?
[1:00 PM, 8/14/2021] Janhvi Deshmukh: @Sidhy Kerala Drosophila
[1:00 PM, 8/14/2021] Aswathy Suresh CUBE: Vinegar mainly using for to prevent the fungal contamination because it contains acetic acid and culture we can maintain for quite longer, maybe one month or more than one month in good condition.
[1:01 PM, 8/14/2021] Aswathy Suresh CUBE: Great work @Abhijeet Singh :+1::+1::+1:
[1:04 PM, 8/14/2021] Aswathy Suresh CUBE: Ma’am, It could be some other reason I guess . The all flies died with in 10 days. And progeny’s didn’t get it from those flies. It could be the reason those C line flies are old flies maybe.
[1:08 PM, 8/14/2021] Sidhy Kerala Drosophila: I think they can feed on these soft and fleshy mucilage containing parts of hibiscus flower.
[1:09 PM, 8/14/2021] Janhvi Deshmukh: Hibiscus feed on flowers??? @Sidhy Kerala Drosophila @Aswathy Suresh CUBE @Arunan HBSCE sir @Batul Pipewala Kolkata mam and others
[1:10 PM, 8/14/2021] Aswathy Suresh CUBE: My plan is to save remain culture SLBK A, B, E with out loosing any flies. I think I need to make more subculture in one Line.

Hello everyone,

Today (13th August 2021) in cube chatshaala, we started the discussion with imaginal disc present in drosophila (fruit flies). The discussion started from imaginal disc lead us to understand the relationship of development of flies to their different stages during life cycle. We also understood the concept of imaginal disc, it’s contribution in growth and in which other organisms it is found during development, that are insects. Insects of different economic value and pathogenic activity were discussed including mosquitoes.
Relationship of imaginal discs and brain activity was understood with the help of previously available data on public resources. Also design of the methodology was discussed to understand if there is…
[2:36 PM, 8/14/2021] Dr. Sarita kumar Delhi CUBE: Duration varies according to the environmental conditions…It can be over in 10-12 days and can extend to months.

[8:27 PM, 8/14/2021] Sidhy Kerala Drosophila: On a paper which is kept on a book on the table .
[9:39 PM, 8/14/2021] Sidhy Kerala Drosophila: If the flower parts get dried , it will be difficult for the larvae to feed on it. It was necessary to make a set up for keeping the flower parts fresh with moisture. So , I made a goof up.

Inside the bottle ,keep water in a bottle cap and soak cotton or tissue paper in it . And keep the cut end of the pedicel dipped or embedded in that cotton. I think , this will help to prevent drying of flower parts in a fruit fly culture bottle. But it was to be done as an initial step of setting up the trap.

Now it is not dried. To prevent drying in the coming days , I am planning to keep the bottle in water or amidst wet cotton. Don’t know this will help or not. Got only this idea.
