Haemoglobin studies in Water Flea

What does pasteurized milk contain? What do bacteria eat?

Pasteurized milk is raw milk that has been heated to a specified temperature and time to kill pathogens that may be found in the raw milk. Pathogens are microorganism such as bacteria that make us sick. Raw milk can contain pathogens such as Campylobacter, E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella, Listeria and other bacteria.

Bacteria break down (or decompose) dead organisms, animal waste, and plant litter to obtain nutrients. But microbes don’t just eat nature’s waste, they recycle it. The process of decomposition releases chemicals (such as carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus) that can be used to build new plants and animals.

So, when we add a drop of pasteurized milk, which contains proteins, carbs, fats etc. the bacteria in the water could feed on them, right?

Yes, we can try this.
