No, Starch can be digested by us because we have the enzymes required to break the branched bonding of glucose. Cellulose having a different structure cannot be digested by us
Can we get some reference link on the essential difference in the bonds between glucose units in Cellulose & Starch ? @Vedikaa @MeharMathur @avani08 @nmsibaarti @Shivangi @tanvi-sharma…
What is the context? Is it for identifying the plants like between Sal and Teak…?
Don’t you think comparison between Cellulose & Glycogen is toooo text-bookish without much interesting context?!!
You can afford to be critical of your mentors too!
Not exactly but since it processed wood pulp , it did have dead cells in its raw form.
After processing , it must have cellulose so that it can serve as food for earthworms.
weather is for the short period of time whereas climate is the weather condition for longer period of time
22nd July 2019- A stroll of the campus
- We started with temperature .We checked the weather not only on one website but in many others to ensure authenticity.Refers to cross referencing.
- By the same method , we found the names of plants and trees around us.
- As we strolled around the school, we took selfish with trees in the background
- We discussed about there being a butterfly park in the campus and how it can be implemented .
Presence of flowers is crucial for attracting butterflies. So, maybe it can be converted to a reality - We came across a tree and had confusion about its identity . Whether it is teak or sal
- We identified it using its flower type. Sal should have red flowers with hard petals.
Whereas teak should have white flower influorescence. So, we reached to the conclusion that it was teak .
If it was not for the flowers , we would still be in confusion because both had almost same leaves. - We came across one more tree and confirmed it to be gulmohar. Although the flowering season in Wikipedia was from April to June. But, in our school, There were flowers even in July. So, one of our group members edited the information on Wikipedia.
- We went to observe the soil and found globules in it.Further research proved it to be earthworm castings. We learnt some amazing facts about earthworm and continued with earthworm culture on 23rd July
Overall , it was a productive day and we observed very minute differences.
@Arunan @GN
Namaskaram everyone ,
Yesterday we started with earthworm castings in the field of our campus . Where we made three sets of soil circle, one of water ,other of soapy water and thirdly of salty water.earthworms in salty and soapy water came out whereas in normal water it did not came out.
Then we prepared homes of George and Fred which were the names of earthworms . It
It was a fun learning experience .
Thanks ARUNAN sir
Our activity of today is to study behaviour of Fred and George and in the condition in which they are happy on a glass plate
by making strips on tissues and adding different. Condition of earthwormStem workshop day 4 is our last day of our workshop which was quite loving and we want it should go on for ever:hugs:
