Grafting is a simple technology for propagation of unique wonderful plants. A most expensive variety of mango for its taste, fragrance and vibrant color is cultivated in Konkan, India with the grafted Alphonso, introduced by the Portuguese. But grafting was ruled out for monocots, cereal crops like rice. Cambridge, Swedish, US, Mexico, scientists have crossed this barrier; hats off to them.
