Activity pattern in Fruitflies:CUBE Sapekhati

Congratulations Bijaylakhi, on observing fruit flies in a banana bait continuously for two days, Similar to the 2017 Nobel laureate’s work.

When I made this experiment in my home lab for two days, I also got the same result that more flies during the day and fewer at night.

Breaking news: Bijayalakhi’s observations are similar to those of the 2017 Nobel laureate, showing that more flies are active during the day and fewer at night.

What did the 2017 Nobel Prize recognize? Did it find the reason behind Bijaylakhi’s observations?

@⁨Batul Ma’am⁩ Your hypothesis is exactly opposite to Bijaylakhi’s observations of fruit flies over two days. What was the reasoning behind your hypothesis, which stated fewer (zero flies) at noon?@⁨Batul Ma’am⁩

Congratulations @⁨Batul Ma’am⁩ for encouraging young researchers from CUBE Sapekhati by setting up the fruitfly experiment at CUBE Homelab , Kolkata.

Could you please share a short summary of your setup?@⁨Batul Ma’am⁩

Congratulations, Biswayini and Bijayalakhi, for your perseverance in observing and culturing fruit flies at Homelab.

@Bijayakakhi, @⁨~ Nirmal Nayak⁩ could you please talk about your work plan regarding fruit flies? (Aapka plan of work ke barem mem bathavo)

Could you please say your expectations for Bottle C today? @⁨~Biswayini Tudu⁩ Can we expect adult flies by the 10th day from the embryo? @⁨~Nirmal Nayak⁩ @⁨Kiran ma’am⁩ @⁨Arunan sir @⁨Batul Ma’am⁩ @⁨~Biswayini Tudu⁩ &others.

The whole life cycle of the fruit fly Drosophila is relatively rapid and takes only approximately 10-12 days at 25 C. The Drosophila development is divided into various stages: embryo, larva (first instar, second instar and third instar), pupa and adult.

Congratulations @bijayalakhi on observing Activity pattern in Fruitflies.@Bijyalakhi and Biswayini :clap::clap:. Are we noticing any drastic change in the number of flies in day and night? What may be the reason? @⁨~Biswayini Tudu⁩ @bijayalakhi @⁨Kiran Ma’am⁩ @⁨Batul Ma’am⁩ @⁨Arunan sir ⁩ & others.

@⁨~Biswayini Tudu⁩ aapka plan kya hai ? How can we check whether fruit flies are sleeping or not?@Bijayalakhi @⁨~Biswayini Tudu⁩ @⁨Batul Ma’am⁩ @⁨Kiran Ma’am⁩ & others.
