A question naturally arose:
โIf potato grows underground, why does it have buds? Is potato really a root?โ
To answer this, we first drew the structure of a potato on the board and connected it with the concepts of Stem Modification and Axillary Buds.

Concept 2: Advantages of Vegetative Propagation in Potato
@Aarya explained why farmers prefer vegetative propagation over seeds for growing potatoes. Instead of using seeds, farmers plant potato tubers containing axillary buds (eyes). These buds develop into new plants that are genetically identical (clones) to the parent plant, ensuring uniform crop quality and yield. Since the tubers already store food, the plants establish quickly and the crop is ready for harvest sooner than plants grown from seeds.
