Electrochromic Coatings at home

Electrochromism is the reversible colour change of certain chemical compounds induced by electrochemical oxidation and reduction. Generally seen in co-ordination compounds, the application of a potential difference across two electrodes with the electrochromic material sandwiched causes a transfer of electrons across the different layers. This doping/de-doping process occurs at visible energies and so we see a colour change.
The materials I used to make an EC device are
ITO coated glass
Aluminum foil
Prussian Blue Pigments
Table salt
Water
Crocodile clips with wires for connection
Beaker
