GNUKhata back-end gkcore started development 9 years ago and front-end gkapp started development 6 years ago. Both gkcore and gkapp have legacy codebase and known limitations which are difficult to fix without a rewrite. To face this issue we have decided to stop working on gkcore and gkapp with v8.0 release. They will be maintained, but no new features will be added and v8.0 will be the last release of gkapp and gkcore (GNUKhata).
We will start working on GNUKhata-NG (Next Generation) soon using volunteer time, until we could find funders for developer time. The roadmap for the new project is mentioned here.
There will be community meetings scheduled at 12, every Thursdays. Let’s work together to make a good, reliable and accessible accounting software for everyone.
