A very interesting thing noticed now a small larve was also seen inside the bottle. It might have been from the mango leaves given to the first larvae. Prithviraj
I searched in Google. I couldn’t identify it. It looks similar to Cupha erymanthis or similar to any other species. The last photo shows the remains of cocoon Prithviraj CUBE SN. College Varkala. 10-7-24.
Does the larval stage shown in the photo resemble yours ? @Prithviraj CUBE https://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/rathinda-amor
[11/07, 11:58 am] Theertha: Rathinda is a butterfly genus in the family Lycaenidae. It consists of a single species, Rathinda amor, the monkey puzzle,[1] found in Sri Lanka and India.[1][2][3]
The larva(green colored ) are similar to Common mormon, also the Curry leaf is a host plant for common mormon that may be the reason Amritha thought it is of Common mormon .

Breaking news
Yesterday (1/07/2024)we collected pupa from the curry leaf plant in our home and take kept in the bowl for further observation.
Today morning (2/09/2024) I get wakeup look at the bowl I came to know that instead of pupa there is a butterfly so I actually adventure. This butterfly looks like very beautiful:heart_eyes:*
The pan palm pupa I collected on 9-8-24 kept in a plastic bottle. I don’t think they develop into butterfly. They all get damaged by fungal attack. Prithviraj CUBE SN. Collge Varkala.
[24/08, 9:44 am] Theertha: Cleaning the cup is essential for culturing pupae. If the cup is not clean, it may allow fungus& other organism to grow and attack the pupae. I think that after cleaning the box, we can remove the fungus from the surface of the first and second pupae and observe whether they can develop into butterflies.
[24/08, 10:08 am] Prithviraj CUBE: Yes you are right. The bottle was not clean. Any way I cleaned the bottle and kept the pupa in it but I don’t think butterfly will emerge from it. Prithviraj CUBE SN. Collge Varkala
I collectd three pupal stage of pan palm on 25-8-24.Among them one developed as butterfly on 29-8-24.The other two leaf roll with pupa is still there. Prithviraj CUBE SN. College Varkala 30-8-24
Today afternoon the second pupa also developed into butterfly. CUBE SN. College Varkala. Prithviraj. From reference it shows similarity to Gangara thyrsis. Reference link is given. 30-8-24.
