m-LEAD #0 Takeoff

The proclamation of March 14 as the International Day of Mathematics (IDM) ,
as proposed by the International Mathematics Union (IMU), has
been adopted by the Executive Council of UNESCO at its 205th session.
If adopted, it will have its first official celebration on March 14, 2020.
For more details, see https://www.idm314.org/

Closely following IDM, will be 26 April 2020, the death centenary of the legendary
and outstanding Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. For more details,
see Remembering Ramanujan

As a run up to these important events and celebrations, we start a series of
activities/challenges, related to mathematics, under the m-LEAD banner (m-LEAD) .
Each self-contained challenge will be open for one month.

These challenges are open to everyone who would like to understand and
appreciate mathematics. Your proficiency in mathematics does not matter.
The author of these challenges is always available by email to provide
clarifications and to assist you.

Watch this space for m-LEAD activities.

You are not the only one who has had this fate. m-LEAD (m-LEAD) is an attempt to repair this flaw in our educational system. I am sure you will enjoy the experience.

Welcome to the wonderful world of mathematics.
