What is real? Can a illusion generate something real or vice versa? If something exists does that make it real? Are dreams someway real?

@Surjamit this is something that has always confused me too.

I think there are two relevant things that we should distinguish here.

  • the existence of the object of concern
  • the experience created by the object of concern

Popularly understood aspect of reality is related to existence of an object.

Now illusion dream seem to me to be entirely experiential. What do you think?

One can be reasonably certain about reality of experience - - the fact that one experience something. But the confusion is about the reality of the object of experience - - the existential aspect.

Does this distinction seem reasonable to you?
