Every plant species has pollen with unique structure, so much so that experts can identify the plant species by looking at the pollen structure. Pollens are like fingerprints of the plant.
In this project, you have to collect pollens, observe them under a microscope, take pictures and post it on STEM Games platform.

Can we identify genus of a plant based on the size and features of pollen?

Yes, we can identify the genus by looking at pollen morphology.

There can be variations in terms of size but not in basic structure. Similar size related variations can be seen in pollens of same plant.
What is the basic structure of pollen ? Please explain with a diagram or picture.
