Here is a message from Subhash Lakhotia, today. I had sent a list to him a couple of days ago, essentially the one culled out of our elementary introduction to the Fruit fly model :

We thank you all for sending us the list of protocols that you would be willing to contribute.

We are collating all the topics and also waiting for some more to respond during the next few days.

Once collated and examined by the editorial board for overlaps, we will get back for further necessary action.

In Aswathy’s case, she had referred Michael Ashburner’s (University of Cambridge) link for finding the life-cycle.
It showed 8-10 days would be taken for the flies to come.
But here, she observed that the flies have ecloded from the pupae much earlier!

Are the flies not fruitflies?
What conditions were given by Michael Ashburner while maintaining the flies?

The organism is made up of cells and the cells have enzymes which carry out major functions which support the growth of the organism.
@⁨Oyindril Asansole⁩ from Asansol pointed out that here, Enzymatic activity increases as the temperature increases.
Ranging from 20-40 degree Celcius.
The enzymatic activity is at a peak in optimum temperature.
