What an amazing organism the Buttefly is… Butterflies can mimics in order to save themselves from their predators…
What how do they mimic?..
Common mime brown butterfly mimics the common craw Butterfly (common crow Butterfly caterpillar feeds on Poisonous leaves and hence becomes an unfavorable food for birds).

Common mime mimics common crow and protected itself from the predators…

Common mime butterfly is of two types shown in above picture…

Is there any other butterfly who mimics?..

@vishnupriya has shared the story of her butterflies.

Vishnupriya got three caterpillar and one egg on Cinnamon plant leaves on 18/12/2020
These caterpillars will hatch out in which Butterfly?.

And in November she found common mime on the same plant that’s cinnamon plant leaves…
I thought Butterflies are very choosy…

Later on we got to know that common mormon(particularly female) also mimics common rose Butterfly…

Why butterflies are specific to their host plants?.
Egg laying plant
Nectar plant…

Comparison of olfactory sense of fruit fly and Butterfly was done.

Here on the whiteboard red color with some hair is actually depicts the third segment of an antennae in fruit fly…
This segment has some hair and pores which are connected to nerve ending…
Than IAA (Banana essence) molecule interact and binda with the receptor present on the surface of nerve cell and hance this signal will pass to the brain and in action brain will give these signals to appropriate muscles of wings ,legs and body so that fruit fly can move and reach to the bait…
