WHITEBOARD SCREENSHOT

Zebra Fish cube collaborators have got 93 eggs ,(83 got hatched ).
How to maintain Zebra fish Larvae (fries)??.
What food is to be given to Fries?..

In today’s chatShaala we had discussed what food we should give to Zebra fish Larvae (fries) in order to maintain them as Zebra fish Cube collaborators have lost most of the Larvae and the main reason is food…

From one of the Cube videos we saw that Paramecium can also be given to Fries, but what’s the size of Paramecium?? What’s the size of fries ,can they engulf paramecium??
How do culture Paramecium?.
Can we culture Paramecium using Hay infusion Nutrient media?..

Then the discussion went on to the fruit flies particularly the food that’s been given to fruit flies and larvae in order to maintain single line Cultures in Cube home labs…

Rava one of the component of TRSV Culture medium which is using as Solidifying agent as well as source of Carbohydrate(starch)…

But what’s the carbohydrate?.-how do we understand this term?..

Rice was taken as an example which is a source of Carbohydrate particularly strach… but what’s starch how starch is different from Sucrose and glucose?..

How do we get energy from starch??.
After the discussion we got to know that starch made of several glucose or chain of glucose…

Ok Glucose is a sugar and sugar is sweet in taste but if we eat a spoon full of Rice we don’t get the sweet taste and on the other hand if we have a spoon full of sugar that’s very sweety?..

Why Rice is not sweet thought it’s consists many glucose molecules?..

Amylase enzyme breaks down the starch in to Maltose that’s in dimer and this happens in the Mouth, and after that Maltose will reach to the lower digestive system that’s stomach and Intestine and then these maltose molecule will break down in to very simpler form that’s Glucose…

Enzyme requires time, we might feel sweet taste of Rice if we chew them for long time or for atleast 3-4 minutes…
What other says?..

We got update from CUBE HOME LAB BOTTUKAVADU KERALA or from Cube Lab Nellore…

Aswathy is maintaining four stock single line Cultures where as Tejsree is trying to culture Zebra fish larvae and planning to keep a breeding set up again.
