Iram a high school student, harvested 23 earthworms from her Garden and maintain them in cup cultures in her CUBE Home lab, where tissue paper is given as a food to earthworm. In the last session we had the discussion around how to perform RER (Rapid Escape Response) assay- where we introduce earthworm in known concentration of NaCl solution to observe earthworms escape response and this assay is crucial to find out the coordination of nerve cord which will gives us insight to the research question that’s ventral nerve cord regeneration in earthworms. In lab we use test tubes and NaCl concentration to perform the assay so what could be the possible alternatives to conduct the same experiment at home?
