Snail is found to be eating paper, so we designed experiment to see if starved snail will be moving towards paper in olfactory assay?
Following is the design of experiment described by Ananya Rout. In the first setup one side is cucumber and other side paper, and there are three possibilities in it, either snail will move straight away from both, or it will move towards cucumber or it will move towards paper pieces.
In second experiment, both the sides paper pieces are kept, Ananya Rout said there is only one possibility that snail may move straight away from it. We are asking a question that as snail is starved will it move towards pieces of papers?
This is a good experiment design as we have replaced water with pieces of paper which is also food of snail but it will also act as smell control.
