We have been facing a big problem since past few days of streaking bacteria on potato slices so as to get a well-isolated colonies. Enas has got mat growth on her potato slice, and we have got mat growth in potato slices of @magpie
but we didnt understand that why we are not getting a well isolated colony.
However in CUBE discussions we came up with defining what streaking actually means, we compared it with dilution, which is a well known terminology, every time we streak the sample gets further segregated and number of bacteria get well separated, we can get an isolated colony in this manner.
Now we understood that streaking is most important skill in isolating bacteria without which we cannot get bacterial colonies which we want.
