I had to learn about zooplanktons during my graduation. Had a practical session to identify and estimate the number of zooplanktons. But I never came across Moina. It was from @Sakshi01 I heard about Moina for the first time. She had shared the Moina story from her college lab, how she used to culture moina. I badly wanted to culture moina in my homelab after that.
Moina macrocopa are pretty small they are round in shape with adult males measuring around 0.5 – 0.9mm in length, females being slightly larger. They are an excellent food for fish with small mouths with juvenile monia being an excellent food supplement for small fry.
It was on 27th May I got Moina from an aquarium store in Rajaji Road, Kozhikode. I bought a bottle of moina (~200) for Rs 50.

Aim is to make subcultures
So I took four 500ml plastic bottles with ~300ml dechlorinated water. Named the bottle A, B, C, D and added ~20 moina to each bottle. Learning from the cubists @Sakshi01 @dhanraj7 I also added a drop of milk on alternate days to each bottles. I observed the bottles daily to note the changes.
On 5th June, I found that the number of moina has dramatically increased in each of them!!!

In bottle A, number has raised to ~ 100. Moina in this bottle is very small sized.
