Wall mounted tables:

▎Setting Up the Computer Lab

The process of setting up the computer lab began with a donation from the Homibhabha Centre TIFR, which provided four desktop computers. So we designed the wall mounted tables afterwords we organized the wiring along the walls to ensure a tidy setup.(Check the following blog for more updates about computer lab setup.Computer lab setup.)

Table Construction

To create the wall-mounted tables, we needed ‘L’ brackets. Ali suggested lets not buy when we can actually create them instead of purchasing. With his welding skills and our experience with him in constructing the pantry, we felt confident that Ali could lead the effort in creating the ‘L’ brackets with the help of other students.

We used 18mm plywood for the tables and other components. The dimensions were cut and arranged in a 2 by 4 size.

For the construction, first we manage to create the “L” brackets;

14th Oct, we begin the process of attaching the tables at the wall with the installation carried out we ensure stability and safety.

Accordingly, one of the table we constructed in the cabin that is attached to the entrance, we also created some tables for collaborative maker space.

Wiring setup:

We managed to create wiring setup accordingly with the direction of wall mounted tables for computer lab setup, after some discussions. We decided to create wiring from the wall for the structure of computer lab.

For the wiring, Ali is making two extension boards, one of 16A, and another of 6A. Each board will be about 20ft long.

The wiring was extended from one end of the hall to the other, and we constructed the tables accordingly. We left one corner space empty for future needs.

We had done wiring all the way till end to end of the hall and constructed the tables accordingly.
