I was on my way back home from the RTO, Wadala, Mumbai after a driving test in the rain when I observed an inconsistent pattern of flowering on the trees of cousins Peltophorum pterocarpum (Common name: Copper pods) and Delonix regia (Common name: Gulmohar).

Description: Sonmohar spotted around RTO, Wadala. No flowering. Pods visible. Location: 19.0343° N, 72.8750° E, Date: 29/06/19. Time: 1.30 pm

Description: 3 sonmohar/copperpod trees. 1/3 flowering. Other two have borne pods, but no flowers. Location: 19.0343° N, 72.8750° E (RTO, Wadala). Date: 29.06.19. Time: 1.30 pm

Description: Gulmohar flowering and bearing pods. Location: 19.0343° N, 72.8750° E (RTO, Wadala). Date: 29.06.19. Time: 1.30 pm

Description: 3 gulmohar trees. All flowering and bearing pods. Location: 19.0343° N, 72.8750° E (RTO, Wadala), Date: 29.06.19. Time: 1.30 pm.

I urge CUBEists in/around Wadala to send in more data to facilitate prolonged tracking and visible seasonal changes in these 2 trees!
