One more earthworm cultivation by Vedika . For it also we hope for a happy life .
George (earthworm)Let’s work on …and understand the magical creatures inside the soil …they can have answers to many of our problems
What are earthworms most sensitive to…how to bring them out
Can we use earthworm as a model system to study neuromuscular coordination?
Can earthworm regenerate?
Materials required for earthworm culture-
1.Cup
2.Cloth
3.Rubber bands
4.Tissue
5.Water source
We went to collect earthworms to observe their behaviour.Poured water in the soil and earthworms appeared.
Placed them into test tubes with different solutions .They flourished in pure water and stay put in soapy water. Died in salt water and were struggling to come out.
It would have been nice if the sequence of the images is changed. You can still edit and change the sequence.
Please write a few lines of what is the story behind the great pictures.
@Vedikaa very crisp way of writing! You are a good communicator! Congrats! However, please check with others to find out how the Earthworms were trapped , since you happened to be away at the beginning of the Experiment…
How does water help in culturing Earthworms in the lab?
How are we providing water in our Earthworm culture set up? @Vedikaa
Does water help Earthworm in getting oxygen for respiration?
In that case , why are the Earthworms come out of the soil during rains ?!!

Earthworm hunting…
Water makes diffusion of food particles and oxygen easier as it increases fluidity.
In our setup , we have made holes in the bottom of the cup and kept them in a tub of water…so the holes are in contact with the surface of water.
With this, we don’t have to pour water so frequently
@Arunan
I am guessing, first we will be checking on Fred and George to see if our idea was successful.
We might also explore some amazing facts about snails.
I think it will be a fun day
