Period: 1–15 October 2025
Days of Participation: 10
Affiliation: CUBE (Collaboratively Understanding Biology Education), Kishore Bharati
Theme: Bridging Conceptual Gaps through Collaborative Inquiry
Overview
During the first half of October, eight ChatShaala sessions were held focusing on Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting. Discussions explored how both techniques complement each other — IHC for localization and Western Blot for quantification of proteins.
Key Sessions
- Tracing Proteins Beyond the Microscope: Understanding antibody–antigen interaction and visual data interpretation.
- When Antibodies Meet Colors: Linking art and science through visualization of proteins using dyes.
- Identifying Misconceptions: Clarified confusions about enzyme-linked detection, labeling, and staining.
Learning Outcomes
- Gained conceptual clarity on IHC and Western Blot techniques.
- Developed questioning and reflective thinking skills.
- Strengthened peer learning and communication through active discussion.
Community Queries
- How reliable are colors in interpreting protein expression?
- What distinguishes background staining from true signal?
- Do proteins behave differently in vivo and in vitro?
Conclusion
The period from 1st–15th October 2025 witnessed steady participation and meaningful dialogue. Through eight active sessions, members deepened their understanding of visualization techniques and embraced the ChatShaala spirit of learning through questioning and reflection.
